Interior Walkthrough of my Home – 4 BHK Duplex Penthouse | Modern Apartment Interior Design

In this video, I would like to share the Actual Interior Walkthrough of my own Home (with final photos and videos) which has been renovated by me during the pandemic! This is a 4 BHK (+ Servant) Duplex Penthouse measuring 2700 sqft in an 8 storied tower within a housing society in National Capital Region, India.

Lower Floor :

Contemporary Interior Design theme has been followed throughout the spaces. The entrance greets visitors with an Artificial Green wall complimented with natural stone cladding. The Drawing, Dining, and Lower Floor lobby have been combined together to form a continuous space. A wooden ceiling has been given in the entrance foyer to give a sense of warmth. A modern chandelier has been provided above the center table to act as a focal element. The wall unit adjacent to the dining area has numerous illuminated shelves which have been decorated with miscellaneous décor elements. A modular kitchen has been installed with white hi-gloss finish and integrated lighting within the overhead unit. The lower floor consists of a Parents’ room and a Guest Room. The double-height area has been kept free from any furniture so as to give a sense of openness. Below the staircase is an indoor garden concept with a small fountain, which becomes the focal point of this space while passing through this area.

Upper Floor :

As we move to the upper floor, we have the double-height wall which is finished with wallpaper and has decorative lighting. The staircase is illuminated with footlights and has been provided with a wooden handrail for adequate sturdiness. The other double-height wall has a modern painting and a planter box which is filled with pebbles and artificial flowers. The primary focal element of the upper floor lobby is the suspended chandelier which is mounted on a drop wooden ceiling. The upper floor gets connected to the lower floor through the adequately sized cut-out in the slab. This floor has a powder room (common washroom) which has dark-colored tiles, a stone counter, and a stone basin. It also has a rope suspended filament light above the counter which gives it an antique character. The kid’s room is mostly open with vibrant colors and vinyl graphics. The room has an extended area that serves as a storage space for kids’ toys. The master bedroom has white hi-gloss bed, side tables, and a console. It also has a small reading area and has a huge window towards the Terrace. The Terrace Garden has a semi-covered area that covers the outdoor dining table. It also has an elevated platform that defines the seating area. There is a planter box that consists of various plants and wall creepers. There is a bamboo wall that provides screening to the terrace from an adjacent unit. The central area of the terrace is very well utilized for various get-togethers, for relaxing with family as well as for spending some time alone!

Overall, this was a very challenging project for me because I was playing the role of both the Client and the Architect, and getting the work done myself during the pandemic was quite tough. However, I believe that this project has made me a much better Architect & Interior Designer. Do share your feedback regarding the design, would love to hear 🙂
